Executive Director of Operations
Full-time Position
Purpose
The Executive Director of Operations provides strategic and operational leadership to support the vision, mission, and ministries of Overflow Church. This role oversees daily operations, staff development, campus logistics, construction projects, and organizational systems to ensure ministry effectiveness, operational excellence, and a healthy team culture. The Executive Director of Operations works closely with pastoral leadership, ministry leaders, staff, and volunteers to create an organized, welcoming, and mission-focused environment.
Responsibilities
1. Logistics & Staff Development
Provide operational leadership and support for church staff and ministry teams.
Develop and maintain systems that improve communication, efficiency, and ministry effectiveness.
Foster a positive and collaborative staff culture aligned with the church’s mission and values.
Coordinate and support cross-departmental collaboration and operational alignment.
Identify areas for organizational growth, long-term planning, and goal setting.
2. Team Building & Culture Development
Plan and coordinate monthly “Team Tuesday” staff team-building events and activities.
Create opportunities that strengthen staff relationships, morale, communication, and unity.
Promote a healthy workplace culture centered on servant leadership, collaboration, and accountability.
3. Operations Management & Campus Care
Oversee daily church operations to ensure alignment with the church’s vision and mission.
Ensure church facilities, grounds, and shared spaces are maintained, organized, and in welcoming condition.
Maintain organized operational records, reports, and attendance tracking systems.
Collaborate with ministry departments to verify implementation and operational efficiency.
Work alongside the Creative team to coordinate updates and operational communication needs.
4. Construction Projects & Financial Awareness
Oversee construction projects, renovations, and campus improvement initiatives.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, architects, and Senior Leadership Team on project timelines and execution.
Assist in managing construction-related budgets, purchasing, and project documentation.
Support leadership in loan management, financial planning, and operational forecasting related to facilities and expansion projects.
5. Systems & Technology Management
Manage and maintain current operational systems, databases, and workflows.
Develop and implement new systems, tools, and technology solutions to support ministry growth and efficiency.
Manage and maintain operational processes and efficiencies
Requirements and Skills
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
A diverse range of skills, including decision-making, strategic thinking, problem solving, multi-tasking and team management skills.
Have good ethics, confidentiality, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to manage employee relations.
Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Experience in operations management, staff leadership, administration, or church leadership preferred.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and servant leadership.
Hours
Monday-Thursday 9am-4pm
Sunday 7am-1:30pm
(Evenings & Weekends as needed for specific church related events)
